Nearly six years after release, the traffic-management building sim Mini Metro has another wonderful update out to pull you back in to play hours more.
"In Mini Metro, you take on the task of designing the subway layout for a rapidly expanding city. Your city starts with three stations. Draw routes between these stations to connect them with subway lines. Commuters travel along your lines to get around the city as fast as they can. Each station can only hold a handful of waiting commuters so your subway network will need to be well-designed to avoid delays."
This fresh update brings players to one of the oldest metro systems in Europe, as you will be tasked with recreating or improving upon Budapest's 126-year-old metro system. Here's what the new update has:
- A brand new map featuring continental Europe’s oldest metro system: Budapest! You can now recreate the iconic metro system of Hungary’s capital, alongside our twenty-five other international maps.
- Several improvements to audio quality, including the ability to turn the volume completely off so you can tune into your favourite podcast or playlist while building the metro system of your dreams.
- Updated night-mode colours for several of our existing maps such as Auckland, Chicago, Osaka and more.
- Improved visuals for our maps with smooth rivers and coastlines including New York City, Saint Petersburg, San Francisco, Cairo and Mumbai!
To actually unlock Budapest you need to have hit at least a 500 score in Chicago.
You can buy Mini Metro from Humble Store, GOG, itch.io and Steam.

Build 48 doesn't start with NVIDIA proprietary driver. It's OK with nouveau.I took that screenshot today, it works fine here.
I finally bought this game, it is on discount on Humble for 2.50 EUR

I have to admit, I bought this years ago, played it for 15 minutes, couldn't understand a thing that was happening and never went back to it. But it gets rave reviews. Not sure what I was missing. I didn't even understand the symbols, their meaning... nothing. Does it have a tutorial now? Or was I just being thick that day??It's actually pretty easy to understand. The symbols are the stations. Each station will spawn passengers of a certain symbol, and it's your job to get them to the correct matching station. That's literally it.
