While celebrating the first anniversary of their game, Kitchen Sink Games have released a Linux version of their RC model flying simulator Wings.
Not one we've been able to try yet so here's what the developers say: "Wings let you experience the thrill of RC model flying from the comfort of your own home. The perfect training tool for learning to fly, or to enhance your racing skills. With online multiplayer and offline modes. We think this is the best online flight simulator experience.". The "demo" (FPS-Checker, you can download the linux version on the buy page of the website) looks quite nice, but the achievable framerates are quite low.
They need some optimizations then it will be fantastic.
Nevertheless looks quite interesting, air racing is a cool thing, especially when a little bit more realistic.
But the engine sound of those RC thingies is quite annoying.

Cute stuff but I would have preferred if it was available on Steam or itchio

The FPS checker runs about 60 fps here in FPV ultra 3440x1440, stutters like a pig for a while in the beginning but is very smooth once it loads completely. OpenGL and Vulkan performs pretty much the same but Vulkan has rendering bugs like missing grass/textures and most of the trees. 6900XT, kernel 5.15rc4 and fresh Mesa-git fyi.
