While all variants of the Steam Deck will come with their own case, the top-end 512GB model will include a slightly different design and Valve has now shown it off. It's not overly exciting and the tweaks to it are pretty minimal but still looks pretty stylish.

Valve say that the casing is functionally identical it's just a cosmetic difference with the Steam Deck logo being a different colour, the zipper pulls are different, the fabric inside is different and the addition of a microfiber cleaning cloth plus a a separate drawstring pouch for the power cord.

I like it. I don't know what people expected, they didn't promise anything else than just slightly different case. The plastic logo being embedded instead of just "ironed" on is a nice touch. The interesting thing is the bottom of the case though, with the strap and what looks like indentation where you probably can fit and carry the charger. Might be first time we saw the bottom of the case.

Looks good enough, but I'm more excited about the contents anyway.

the addition of a microfiber cleaning cloth
I strongly suspect that the top model needs that cloth. Certainly other similar etched glass needs a specific type of cloth to avoid polishing away those expensive grooves.

Will be interesting to see what kind of 3D printed cases can be made. :)

The drawstring bag is exactly the same as the one that came with my Anker battery. I wouldn't be surprised if Valve have hit up Anker to provide the power cables.

Which would be a good thing. The ones I bought from them, were the only ones to survive under my mother and sister usage.

Yeah, we've got a couple of Anker external batteries here, and they're solid bits of kit.

Those bags are pretty ubiquitous, so it's not surprising to see Valve using them.
It's the same. Same material, same closing toggle, same label. They could just be using Anker's upstream bag manufacturer and getting someone else to make the power deelie, but why bother?

For some reason that shot on the upper left with the case closed makes it look way longer and skinnier. Must just be the perspective, I've seen the shots of it in people's hands so I know roughly how it looks, but...huh.
