Get a bunch of Myst games in this latest bundle

By -

Up for some exploration? Humble Bundle has a nice selection of new and old games in the Myst universe. Here's a look at how they can run on Linux.

This is a 12 item bundle and it's actually pretty great value. No native Linux games in this bundle, but looking over them all, it appears they will all work with Steam Play Proton. However, some may need Proton-GE for working videos which you can install easily with ProtonUp-Qt.

Here's what's inside:

  • Myst: Masterpiece Edition
  • realMyst: Masterpiece Edition
  • Riven: The Sequel to Myst
  • Myst III: Exile
  • Myst IV: Revelation
  • Myst V: End of Ages
  • URU: Complete Chronicles
  • The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition
  • Spelunx and the Caves of Mr. Seudo
  • Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel
  • 10% off Myst (the 2021 remake) in the Humble Store

The fun thing is that multiple titles here work through ScummVM, so you can use the data files to run them through a natively installed ScummVM for an even better experience.

See the full bundle if any interest you. At time of publishing it costs £7.39 for the whole thing.

On top of that there's also these bundles worth a look:

I ended up getting this bundle. Granted the only game I've played in the series was the first one, which I completed on the Atari JaguarCD. Myst was released for EVERYTHING back in the day...

I did buy Obduction for the VR, but have yet to spend any time trying it out.

If they work with ScummVM, then Roberta could work too. That way they more or less look like native games and can be launched from Steam. I don't know if there's packaged version of Roberta somewhere, which would make the installation easier.

Maybe not as such, but that "Proton-Up QT" thing Liam mentions in the article apparently also acts as an installer for Roberta; also Luxtorpeda and Boxtron.

Oh, thanks. I didn't remember that. It's actually mentioned in the linked ProtonUp-Qt article.
