Heroic Games Launcher is truly becoming one of the best game managers available for Linux. Not only does it support Epic Games, it's just expanded to cover GOG too.
For the new GOG support, Heroic is able to download games using the Galaxy API (Windows and macOS) and for Linux you can use the offline installers that developers put up. It also supports DLC, you can run native Linux downloads using the Steam Runtime (requires Steam installed of course) which can fix some dependencies errors and pick languages for games that support it.
At least one account is required to use Heroic, so you can pick between GOG and Epic or use them both. There's also now a game store indicator / logo on the page for each game so you know where it's from.
Picks up my GOG collection nicely.
The UI was adjusted for the GOG integration as well of course. There's an expandable Library list now in the left panel, you have an updated settings page to list accounts, a few bug fixes and an upgrade of Electron to v17.0.1.
Also (not an issue for readers here) but after release, we noticed that games are not installed on Windows. Its the platform we put less time to test and most of our users are on Linux.
Some games might not install or not even load the Install Dialog. Ex.: Fallout classic.
We are trying to understand why.
But most of the things are working fine for a first release. :)
Great! Is it able to count play time on GOG though?
Heroic count the playtime on its own. But not the time you have on GOG Galaxy for instance.IF that's what you mean.

There are some improvements to make on the interface and navigation.

As always thanks for the awesome launcher. Any plans to add Origin or Battlenet support?
in the meantime I continue to keep myself informed. (thanks GOL :D )
P.S.: I know only one is no good...

No. I believe after making GOG more stable we might focus on Amazon Gaming. Since there is not alternative right now on Linux.
But we don't know, let's see what the future reserves 😁

While it would be nice, the amount of research that needs to be done is huge.
Battle.net uses own file format and protocols and multiple binaries and i suspect the anti-cheat system doesn't solely rely on the executed games.
I am sure help is always welcome.
How well does Final Fantasy VII Remake run on Heroic Games Launcher, and do you think it will run well on the Steam Deck?
Runs pretty well I believe. There is an article from Open4Everyone where Jason runs it with Heroic.

Oh awesome. This basically means the Deck is the best portable for Japanese RPGs then.
