Game store itch.io has put up another massive charity bundle, and it's your chance to get a ton of games plus funds go on to support Ukraine.

There's close to 600 games included, with 991 total items in the bundle. It was arranged by Brandon Sheffield of Necrosoft Games and includes some really amazing titles. Funds go on directly to International Medical Corps and Voices of Children. No Steam keys are provided on this one, so you will need to use itch for all games included.

Some highlights of what's included:

  • A Short Hike
  • Baba Is You
  • Celeste
  • CrossCode
  • Figment
  • GoNNER

You can run the itch.io app on a Steam Deck too, as they have a Linux version. See how in my previous article.

As of right now, the bundle has already hit $605,340.57. Update - March 9: now over 2.4 million!

It's an instabuy, isn't it?

Grabbed it - thanks for the heads-up, Liam!

I browsed through the list of included content, and the bundle made another million during that time! At the time of writing, it now stands at $730,905.44.

My game, Penance, is there too. It has Linux build although there's a bug that your mouse cursor is *huge*... :'D But the Windows version should work fine under wine if the native build has problems.

As with the previous charity bundles, wading through the humongous list of games can feel a bit overwhelming. But again, https://randombundlegame.com helps you find stuff that actually interests you.

EDIT: Seems like the site is down.

The goal is a million. You are reading the number wrong. But apparently in those 2 hours since your comment it went up another 175k.

You forgot the important number: 233 linux items, according to the website's filter.

Some more highlights:

Bleed
Bleed 2
They bleed pixels
Super Hexagon
Hidden Folks (really love the dev of this game, thanks to the stance on dlc)
Glittermitten grove

Similarily, there's the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas! bundle, a bundle of tabletop RPG books in response to the Texas in the US signing laws in place that hurt trans people and especially trans kids.
Sweet! I picked it up.

Instabought. Excellent stuff in here and for excellent organizations.

Interestingly, like the other time, there is more stuff than just videogames: including game assets and pen and paper roleplaying games.

There an odd one I've been on the fence for months: Delve which seems to be kind of a draw-it-yourself Dwarf Fortress solo game.

First purchase on itch.io after holding back for a long time. Bought it for Towerfall Ascension, it doesn't work on Linux for me not a great start. Haque won't start which was another one I was interested in (and im sure there are more) as it appears to be a 32bit build and im running 64bit (is it safe to install an older 32bit version of libcrypto.so.1.0.0 on my 64bit system ?)

there appears to be some titles are not working and of course there are only 260'ish games that are 'supported' on Linux. Im not saying it's not worth donating though, just something to be aware of.

Hahaha, whoops, my bad - that's what I get for writing in a hurry! Can't believe I didn't catch that, since I was quoting the amount and everything.

Anyway, looks like the original goal has been completely shattered at this point, which is even better - the new goal is $4,000,000, of which $2,200,560.61 has been hit right now.

I just tested both of those games, and they work fine for me.

Towerfall, I had to manually download the game from the website and not use the itch client. It's actually an installer file, so just mark it executable, run, and install with your terminal.
edit: ships with an old gamecontrollerdb file, may want to get a newer one for better controller support.

Haque I could download with the itch client, but it wont run, like you said it's missing libs. I just pointed to the 32bit steam runtime on my system and the game launched fine from my terminal.

Mixing 32/64 should be fine if you follow your distros multiarch guidelines. If your concerned with the age of the lib, just stick with the steam runtime if you want.

That is a huge number of games, does itch let you filter games you own in a bundle to search by things like single/multiplayer and genre at all?

As I wrote in my earlier reply, itch.io doesn't provide a great interface for browsing these bundles, but https://randombundlegame.com was built for exactly this purpose. There's a dropdown for genres, and the "Multiplayer" and "Local multiplayer" tags should do the rest. I guess you'd find exclusively single player games by excluding those tags.
