More goodies have arrived from Valve with a Proton Experimental update available, here's what's new and improved. This update arrived on March 30, and it seems they also removed the note of Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul being playable from a previous update as it needs more work right now.

For this update noted as newly playable: Guilty Gear Isuka.

Other fixes include:

  • Fix Microsoft Flight Simulator crashing after a recent game update.
  • Fix Quake Champions crashing after a recent game update.
  • Fix multiplayer in UNO.
  • Fix some older games including Deus Ex GOTY, Prey 2006, Quake 4 and Chaser having visible banding especially in shadows compared to older Protons.

Update: another fix just landed "Fix Unity games crashing on launch with certain peripherals connected" from what I reported in a previous article.

Changelog can be seen on GitHub.

Prey 2006 and quake 4 has native ports, but I cannot confirm that are on steam.
I have Prey and the last time I tried (about a year ago) I had no problems.
And Quake 4 I tried the demo some years ago and run ok also.

I don't know why you've posted that? Lots of those are from previous releases I covered in other articles, there's a reason I only noted one - as it's the only new one noted in this update.

Compiling shaders twice a day, nothing is more fun :D. Though, the peripheral stuff did not hit me, but it would be annoying if it did (I have a lot of Unity games I play).

The speed they fixed this at was pretty impressive.
