Do you remember the classic multiplayer shooter Soldat? Well, it continues living on with the original now being open source and the sequel just got completely remade.

Soldat 2 entered Early Access in September 2020 but it seems it didn't quite hit the marks players wanted, and failed to find much of an audience. Transhuman Design never gave up on it, and as it turned out they were hard at work to overhaul everything. This huge revamp is out now!

The movement system was changed to include new abilities like front-flips, hardrolls and glide rolls, sliding and more. Maps were redone, there's a whole new lobby system with lots of modifiers available, the UI was completely remade, there's now an End Results screen with match statistics, matchmaking, a new level editor and the list just goes on. Clearly, a lot of work was put into this. See the new trailer below:

Now this is a blast from the past! Our WinXP computer was super slow and sluggish, it barely ran anything.. But Soldat worked well. Many hours were spent playing this game.... And modding the minigun to shoot rockets so fast it froze our PC.
