Looks like Valve are getting back into fixing up Team Fortress 2, which has been a long-time coming and after fans have been campaigning to get Valve to do something.
TF2 has had so many problems with bots over the last year or two, that it became largely unplayable most often as bots would just repeatedly ruin games. There were other issues but that was the biggest. Valve said back in May they were listening and would do something about it.
On June 21st a fresh update was released that fixed quite a few exploits like being able to clear the in-game text chat and players could use cheats on secure servers amongst other annoyances. There's various bug fixes too like projectiles sometimes colliding with teammates too early / late and the Spy using the incorrect weapons when disguised.
Another addition in this patch is an updated voting system that should also help that includes:
- Both teams can have a kick vote running at the same time
- Can have a global vote running at the same time as a kick vote
- Fixed sometimes not being able to vote on maps at the end of the round
Really great to see Valve giving TF2 some love. It remains as one of the most popular games available on Steam and it appears this patch has bumped the player numbers up once again.
It is good to see TF2 still getting updates after all these years..... to many games get abandoned way to quickly these days....
Quotevarious bug fixes too like projectiles sometimes colliding with teammates too early / lateI saw that in the patch notes, and am hoping, as a Medic main, that that means the Crusader's Crossbow projectile is more reliable. I might need to get back into the game and check it out…
