Lutris, the open source game manager that can help you keep together all your games from various services on Linux and Steam Deck has a new Beta release fixing some big issues. The release in terms of changes is quite small but still an important one to keep it running smoothly.
Here's what's changed in version 0.5.12-beta1:
- Fix authentication issue with Origin.
- Fix authentication issue with EGS.
- Fix authentication issue with Ubisoft Connect when 2FA is enabled.
- Add Discord Rich Presence integration.
- Add ability to extract icons from Windows executables.
- Re-style preference dialogs.
Discord Rich Presence is a nice bit of fluff, for those of you who love to overshare what you're doing everywhere. Now you can show off all the cool stuff you're playing via Lutris.
See more on the Lutris website and GitHub.

How would the oversharing-your-gaming-status work in practice? A setting in Lutris, but working out of the box on Discord-side?

Hopefully one day it will have support to collect shader cache and the end user will Pre-Compile it.

Soon with all Graphics Pipeline Work made on DXVK it won't be a problem. Currently only available on dxvk-master and Nvidia Vulkan dev driver and latest 520 mainline driver combo.
RADV side is WIP.

Hopefully this will work out for me. Failed to get Sims4 runing for quite a while now because of this sh*#&y EA/Origin Launcher. Up until today I failed to see the purpose of Launchers aside from an additional way to market products.

Tried using the EA App in your prefix instead? It'll replace Origin in the near future.
There's mixed success with it, I know some people cannot get it to work at all, and for some (including me) it just works and does so miles better than Origin. I made a new Wine prefix and installed it using up to date Wine, then Battlefield 4 and 5 installed and played much more smoothly with it. Worth a shot, if you haven't.

Up until now i tried to install the client through steam (with no success) and then via lutris (successfully) and started Sims4 via steam which i read elsewhere that it will work that way, but it didn't - Sims just refused to start. Next step will be trying to install Sims in the Wine-prefix, then I will give the EA App a shot - thanks for the tipp.
Would be a much smoother process if it wouldn't be the 40GB Download on every attempt.

Keep the game files mate :) At least until you know it runs. If you simply place them where they should be and then initiate a download the EA App, the client will simply find the files. I believe Origin might too, but it's been too long for me to say that confidently.
