Valve has released a fresh update to Proton Experimental, and it fixes up quite a few games not working correctly or at all for both Linux and Steam Deck.

As of the October 28th update these are noted to be newly playable:

  • Persona 5 Royal.
  • UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
  • Gotham Knights.

All of which worked on Steam Deck but did not launch correctly on desktop Linux, so now they should!

Other improvements include:

  • Fix Super House of Dead Ninjas, Enemy Mind, and Out There Somewhere frame hitching every few seconds.
  • Fix on-screen keyboard popping up every time when starting A Plague Tale: Requiem on the Steam Deck.
  • Fix Alone in the Dark 3 failing to launch with recent Proton versions.
  • Fix Lost Lands: Dark Overlord, Lost Lands: Dark Lord, Lost Lands: Redemption, and Haunted Hotel: Silent Waters Collector's Edition crashing when trying to set a wallpaper.
  • Fix Jurassic World Evolution 2 bad performance with recent Proton versions.

Changelog available here. As a reminder (for desktop), you now need Mesa 22 / Nvidia drivers 510.47 or newer for Proton Experimental.

It feels like every update fixes Persona 5.

I wonder if there's any chance it also fixed Chronotrigger frame hitching every few second?

If you are on Proton 7.04, does the launch argument -steamdeck also fix it?
