Love it, and love your new profile pic Liam :). I'd just wish we had a better way to go around the damned anti-cheat :(

By the way, now that they released this version... I've read a bit about it, but what would be exactly the difference between Proton Experimental and Proton 7.0-5? Could someone elaborate a bit about it? What pros and cons for each version? Which one would you recommend?

If you follow the link to the changelog in the article, there's an overview of the differences between Experimental and 7.0-5.

The biggest changes are probably that Experimental ships with much newer releases of dxvk and vkd3d-proton but have higher driver requirements.

Most of the games are playable now thanks to Valve but today I wanted to play catherine classic on Steamdeck but I was not able to - freezing and loading screen when starting a lvl :(

https://store.steampowered.com/app/893180/Catherine_Classic/

I have tried it on the PC as well and the same thing...

Now I have to find a way to make it work ....

Any ideas???

Video issues. It seems to be broken both on Proton and with vanilla Wine.

There's a workaround described here. Falling back to an older Proton release and (I assume) using mf-install to add the needed mfplat dlls.

Proton on my Deck hasn't updated to 7.0-5 yet, it downloaded 7.0-4 after opting out of the old RC beta.
I've checked the updates a few times, but it might take another day or clearing the download cache.
Not that it matters to me as I can switch to Next, but it would be needed for a game like AK to become Steam Deck Playable, which I know these devs are eager for.
edit: updated a day later
another edit: Apparently the AK devs had to "click a button" to confirm the Playable rating.
Which makes sense but also makes blaming devs for breaking compatibility (if it's on them) somewhat justified.

Tried Deathsmiles II with the new proton and the pre-boss videos are still not showing.
Maybe force compatibility is needed?
