I think it might be seriously time to play a whole lot more Volcanoids, with the new Ground Support update adding in special drones you can build and it looks awesome. The update also adds in new achievements, a few performance improvements, Japanese and Dutch translations, audio improvements and lots of bug fixes.
This is the survival game where instead of building up a big sprawling base, you have a steampunk drillship to burrow deep underground with. It's a really clever idea that they keep expanding on during Early Access. These new drones you can build can help with defence, mining and more — you can even build a little fort with them. Going back to it today, I'm impressed by how far it has come. Even at a 1440p resolution, it's performing so much better than it used to. Some small loading hiccups here and there but other than that, it seems to have progressed nicely. Looks a fair bit better too. If you're after a survival game that you can do in co-op, that's quite different to all the rest, it's worth a look for sure.
The game gets surprisingly spooky at times too. With you always on a timer before a volcano erupts, once it does and you come back up to the smoke seeing all the little lights of various enemies is quite unique.
