Blending features from city builders and dungeon crawling roguelikes, Landnama sounds pretty unusual, especially with the non-violent theme too.
You control a band of Vikings, as they set out to settle Iceland. There's no combat here though, as the game focuses on the farmers, explorers and builders. So the challenge here is the exploration, and the count-down to Winter and with a single resource of Heart you'll need to weigh up every possible decision.
So far they've only released a very brief teaser along with info about what it is, plus a bunch of screenshots:

Certainly has me curious to try it.
Developed by indie team Sonderland, three dads and close friends from Germany, France and Canada with different backgrounds and perspectives on gaming, united by the desire to make beautiful, minimalist games they love to play. It will have Native Linux support at release. Their plan is to release it sometime this year, and there's a Playtest on Steam you can request access to try it.
You can follow it on Steam.

Its as synonymous as a Scotsman being a cheapskate........
Settling Iceland sounds pretty boring tbh.Gets exciting if you try to eat certain Icelandic food . . .
"Hey Bjorn, how did the shark's liver taste?"
Bjorn (dies)
"Hmmm . . . Olaf, I think ve better ferment it a few more months and try again!"
Very intrigued, I'm definitely wishlisting this !
