STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is releasing on April 28th, so Valve has released an updated graphics driver in the Preview update branch for Steam Deck. This is the work covered previously where Valve wouldn't name the game, so we got a bit too excited about it.

Released on April 25th, the Steam Deck OS 3.4.7 Beta available in the Preview branch simply notes:

  • Updated the graphics driver with performance improvements for STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor

So if you're wanting to get the best out of Jedi: Survivor on Friday, be sure you've opted into the Preview branch on Steam Deck which you can do in the Settings > System > Steam Update Channel.

The next major SteamOS update for Steam Deck should be quite an exciting one, as SteamOS 3.5 is planned to come with support for HDR for external screens when docked along with an upgraded Linux kernel and various improvements elsewhere.

Heard this game runs like poo. Maybe they calibrated it against the 4090? or more then likely 30fps which nobody likes.

Probably it will run on the deck with the low quality. But we have to remind that the work that valve does is for linux in general, not only for the deck. Probably ho has a powerful computer will have no problems.

Also how does the previous one runs on linux? The last time I tried had problems with stuttering one some areas and also had an annoying launcher.
