Odencat (Meg's Monster, Bear's Restaurant, Fishing Paradiso) and Fuming have announced Dream Channel Zero, a rather surreal sounding adventure about a boy who gets sucked into the world of a mysterious video game.

"Dream Channel Zero tells the tale of a boy named Akira, who one day gets suddenly and inexplicably sucked into the world of a mysterious video game. There, he meets Rumiko—a seemingly normal girl in a teal blue hoodie—and the two team up to conquer whatever perils this strange virtual world might throw at them, and hopefully find a way out."

Sounds just as unique as games previously from Odencat, so no surprise to see them teaming up with Fuming on this one. The battle system sounds interesting too, as the world is filled with strange creatures and all of them will stand in your way but they say "in many cases, a single well-timed punch to the face will be enough to send them to their graves" with each battle having its own unique trick to beat it and no repeat encounters.

It will release sometime in 2024 and you can follow it on Steam.

Getting some strong Yume Nikki vibes from this one, except with a more clearly-defined story and goal. Interesting!
