If dwarves aren't your thing and you want to do some building in space, Stardeus is worth a look and it just recently had a pretty huge upgrade. As a reminder: Stardeus is a deep colony sim set on a broken starship manned by drones and hibernating human survivors. As the AI, have your drones repair your ship, save your crew and travel the stars in this beautiful simulation.

With the latest update the developer has expanded on the planet system, allowing you to now enter any Planet in the game and they will have multiple points of interest and resources. You will also have full control over your planetary expedition to tell them where to go.

Lots more new in the latest update including the ability to sell derelict ships, distress signals you can respond to, some mining automation, you now need to make Enriched Uranium for nuclear reactors giving them another step in the process and you can now build a scanner to detect alien intrusions. There's even more customization with the ability to paint everything too:

Sounds like a really fun update for a game that already sucked away plenty of my time. Full changelog can be seen here.

It has Native Linux support and is Steam Deck Verified. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy sci-fi colony builders and you're after something different, that has plenty of depth to it already.

Available to buy on GOG and Steam.
