Wonder how many are going to sell off their Steam Deck for the ROG Ally. I think Valve needs to release a SteamOS image for it, since they basically make more of their money on people buying Steam games rather than hardware, but I think it'd be a nice slap in MS's face :P

I'd heavily consider getting the ROG Ally if SteamOS was released for it. Only question minor hesitancy I would have would be from the lack of touch pads which I use all the time. Can I really use a thumb stick for mouse as effectively, for example? As it is now, everything I play works just fine on my Steam Deck. It's the SteamOS and Steam Deck features that make the form factor console levels of convenient. It would be hard to give those things up strictly for performance and visual quality as much as I want that.

Can I really use a thumb stick for mouse as effectively, for example?I can't. Stick mouse is horrible. Give it a try and disable the touchpads for a few hours.

Great news to see continued support on the deck. I am curious as to how many steam deck units valve have now sold.
I have noticed on the store page that the 2 lower tier units are sold out with a 2 week wait for the 512gb unit so sales seem to be steady.
I really hope we can get Cities Skylines 2 deck verified when it releases and hopefully a linux build too.

Keep an eye on ChimeraOS's 43 release when it comes out. The devs have the Ally and have been doing a lot of development so it works on it. The biggest issue is sleep mode not working properly but other than that that's about the most glaring bug in 43. ChimeraOS is really SteamOS-like, starts with big picture mode that runs in gamescope. The only difference is that it comes with GNOME in the desktop mode versus KDE Plasma.

Great news to see continued support on the deck. I am curious as to how many steam deck units valve have now sold.No official numbers, but there've been some estimates of possibly around 2 million, maybe reaching 3 million by the end of the year. (Source: an Ars Technica article I read this morning about Jsaux and how they become such a big provider of Steam Deck accessories.)

Keep an eye on ChimeraOS's 43 release when it comes out. The devs have the Ally and have been doing a lot of development so it works on it. The only reason I could justify an Ally is due to it being quieter. It doesn't last longer, it's a bit faster / higher resolution screen, but that seems to be negated by my give a crap about having 1080p on a tiny screen. Only reason it makes sense for a phone is so you don't see pixels reading stuff, but you're not just reading text on a handheld gaming PC.
