Need more games for your Steam Deck or desktop Linux with Proton? Paper Trail looks very sweet and the developers are clearly big Steam Deck fans.

About it: "Paper Trail is a top-down puzzle adventure about leaving home, set in a foldable, paper world. You play as Paige, a budding academic, leaving home for the first time to pursue her studies. On the journey, you learn to fold the world, merging two sides to solve puzzles, explore new areas and uncover long-lost secrets."

In a post on Steam the developer mentioned how they "fell head over heels" for the Steam Deck so they've worked to ensure it plays perfectly with its controls. It now fully supports both the trackpads, touchscreen and the thumbsticks too. They said the trackpads were "just perfect for folding paper in the game". They've also worked on native 16:10 resolution support and it should run at a "silky smooth" 60FPS.

Considering how well they said it runs on Steam Deck, there should be no reason it's not perfection with Proton on desktop Linux too!

Check it out on the Steam page. It releases in 2024 and there's a demo available.

Thank you Liam for bringing this game to my attention. My favorite demo on Next Fest was ViewFinder. After watching the YouTube video, I decided Paper Trail has the same vibe.

It's from the same creator of Hue, which is also a very clever puzzle game.

Quoting: Goggo66It's from the same creator of Hue, which is also a very clever puzzle game.

I was hoping that this game would get a Linux version too, since Hue does.

I don't remember why, but I'm "friends" with the creator on LinkedIn. Could be that I was a beta tester for the Linux version of Hue, and that's why, but I'm not sure anymore if I was or not.
