If you're in the need for a new game to pick up and play I can happily recommend Roto Force to you. A high-energy 2D twin-stick bullet-hell where you rotate around little arenas and it's just chaos.
The developer sent over a key and it works great on Steam Deck and desktop Linux with full Native Linux support thanks to it being built with Java. Screenshots in no way do this game justice, you need to see it and feel it — pure fun. A fun twist on the bullet-hell genre, which I often find a lot of games are very samey but this thankfully feels new and fresh. Some good tunes to go along with it too.
You slide around the sides of each arena, and use your power to fling yourself across when you need to avoid fire, or pop through bubbles surrounding enemies and items. Plus you have an assortment of weapons, each with a unique type of fire - there's a lot to like in this one. Check out the trailer:
