The game that spawned a great many clones, Vampire Survivors is back with a brand new free content update for all players. A game that needs no introduction by now right? Run around taking down enemies with weapons that auto-fire on timers, while you collect gems to level up and create a completely ridiculous combination.

Version 1.7.0 the 'Chilling Update' has a snowy theme, check out the trailer:

Yep, that's about as insane as I would expect from developer poncle by now.

New in this version:

  • 6 new EXTRA achievements.
  • 1 new bonus stage.
  • 2 new relics to get a new PowerUp and morph an existing character.
  • 1 new weapon with its evolution.
  • 1 new playable character.
  • 1 new music track.
  • Various bug fixes.

Their next planned updated with "Adventures" was delayed, as it needs more time testing with all the different platforms so they're saving it for a future release. It should be out in "less than a month" if all testing continues to go well. The Adventures update, they said, will remix content of the base game and add in "a bit of new flavour through new stage progression and descriptions" along with giving you a fresh start, while not losing anything you've obtained. Seems like it will have a mixture of free and paid DLC content for it.

It has a Native Linux version but it's not advertised and seems to work just fine. It also works just fine with Proton.

Available on Steam.

Pretty strange and annoying considering both DLCs are marked as Linux supported :/
