Prism Launcher 8.0 for Minecraft modding out now

By -

Prism Launcher for easy Minecraft Java modding has launched the big Prism Launcher 8.0 upgrade with plenty of new features and enhancements.

The 8.0 release has some good stuff like FTB App import, CurseForge modpack export, NeoForge support, showing playtime, an updater for Linux and Windows, better Java directory support on Linux, support for Snap packaging on Linux, support for ATLauncher browser download, support for multiple mod loader filters for CurseForge, support for installing shaders from CurseForge, better mod dependency handling when updating plus lots of bug fixes and UI improvements.

Overall seems like a fantastic release, and it's still one of the easiest ways to get modding Minecraft Java on desktop Linux and Steam Deck.

See more on the Prism Launcher website. You can see my previous guide on getting it set up on Steam Deck in this article.
