Need more bullet hell goodness for your Linux PC or Steam Deck? Good news, Cosmic Carnage looks pretty wild and it will have Native Linux support.

No, I'm not talking about the fighting game Cosmic Carnage from 1994 but a space shooter filled with action and glorious upgrades from developer LionSword Studios. Looks like they've learned a lot from their 2016 game Generic Space Shooter because this looks far more interesting. Check out the trailer below:

Features:

  • Battle endless waves of alien spaceships. Fight against a variety of enemies with different behaviours and attack patterns
  • Collect EXP to level up and upgrade your ship to help you survive the onslaught. 80+ upgrades available making each run unique and interesting
  • With a roguelite progression system, no run is ever a fail. Gather more points and unlock new upgrades and weapons to add to the pool to create overpowered builds!
  • Upgrade your build by unlocking new astronauts and ships. Each astronaut has unique abilities and stats. Each ship has a unique weapon and stats. Synchronize astronauts and ships to unlock hidden synergies.

It has a demo available on Steam and with Native Linux support the developer said it's "100% compatible with the steam deck". No current set release date while they're still working on it but they have been regularly updating the demo so be sure to check it out. Looks like they may also have a Prologue coming as well.

The fighting game is bad, though still worth playing at least once. But with how little there was on the 32X, you took what you could get. lol
