This one has certainly made me curious, Tinymice Entertainment emailed over info on Stellar Settlers, a space-base colony building sim with a twist - you keep building vertically. While most similar games have you spread out more and more, here you're going higher and higher again!
"With unique vertical and horizontal base-building gameplay, take control of a settlement, build your own thriving colony on 5 hostile planets. Earn profits, buy parts & build a better Starship, colonize even richer planets & REPEAT!"
Have a look at their recent gameplay demo:

The developer mentioned clearly they're ensuring all updates to it are thoroughly tested on Linux and Steam Deck. An Early Access release is planned for March, 2024. Initially with 5 planets, they plan to double that to 10 through 1 year of Early Access to provide regular additions to the game's content. That's on top of plans for more structures, building pods, settler characters and more.
Check out the demo and playtest on the Steam page.
Runs mostly ok on Linux (fedora 39):
- had to frame limit it or it would max the gpu (1500fps in the menu, yay)
- sound did not work until I started easy effects or switched output (not the first unity game to do that)
