AdventureQuest 8-Bit: Dungeons & DoomKnights is a really properly retro adventure, funded on Kickstarter for the NES back in 2019 it now has a fancy PC release too. The Kickstarter was pretty popular with $54,715 pledged, clearly people love their retro games. Although it helps that this particular game is also available as an actual NES Cartridge.
The PC release just arrived along with Linux support on Steam: "The young hero Artix, returning from passing the trials to become a Paladin, finds his home destroyed by an army of the undead... its people gone. He swears to save them and destroy the DoomKnight responsible. Will you help Artix defeat the evil undead, or become their new master?
AdventureQuest 8-Bit: Dungeons & DoomKnights is more than just a rom in a shiny wrapper! It's packed with other games and goodies to make it the ultimate version of the game! 3 Games, 3 Chaos mods, several color palettes, a CRT filter, and a dragon in a pear tree! (Okay, last one isn't true.)"

I also need you to appreciate this screenshot that made me chuckle for a good few minutes, what a strangely buff looking chicken you have there. Wait, is it actually a cow? A chicken-cow? Wild.
This game looks like a lot of fun.
Check it out on Steam now.
I was more of a DragonFable fan, and MechQuest was its own fun, but this seems interesting. For someone who is into these sorts of retro games!
AdventureQuest Worlds was kinda neat but I never got much into it. It's cool that it has a Linux launcher. I don't think they actually have the Adobe Flash version anymore, but they say they do... https://www.aq.com/play-now/
I'm kind of surprised Artix Entertainment is still around. I haven't heard anything about them for over a decade. But I guess I'm glad they are.
Man, I was so into AdventureQuest back in the day. I was a level 40 X-Guardian Werepyre if I remember correctly.

I don't want to clutter up the comment section with irrelevant posts, but I just managed to get back into my AQ account. I thought for sure it was attached to my old, long dead yahoo email. But no, it was my Gmail. I reset my password. I'm in. Last played: 3927 days ago. I'm surprised it was that recently. I am in fact a level 40 X-Guardian Werepyre.
