One missed from yesterday Friday, January 5th is that Valve released another Preview update of SteamOS for Steam Deck with a couple more useful changes.

Code named "Here Be Dragons" here's all the changes in SteamOS 3.5.13 Preview:

  • Added a slider to control the brightness of the Status LED (Charger LED). This setting can be found under Settings -> Display.
  • Fixed a case where wifi would fail to connect in certain conditions
  • Fixed HDR on some external DisplayPort displays being slightly desaturated

Seen a few people note they had WiFi issues recently so hopefully the fix in this, along with the additional WiFi crash-fix from SteamOS 3.5.12 Preview will improve things overall.

How to access SteamOS Preview: go into Settings > System > System Update Channel and select Preview from the drop-down box and then it will need you to restart.

Are you waiting on anything specific being fixed right now that isn't in the latest SteamOS 3.5 Preview versions? Or is there a feature you're desperate for Valve to add into SteamOS still? Let me know in the comments.

It would be cool if third party platforms could hook deep in steam OS and show their shop and game library directly instead of only adding shortcuts.
Having them es external apps feels a bit clunky, be it ea, ubi, bnet, Lutris, emudeck or heroic.

I too wish they added proper desktop (e.g. multi-window) application support in gaming mode.

However adding explicit support for other shops would be undermining their own shop, and would be a maintenance and support nightmare. Just think how often things like the EA app breaks on Steam games, because EA does not give a crap. Also could invite all sorts of legal issues.
I'm not sure if it's specific to the Steam Controller, but whenever I change controls while connected to the internet they immediately revert back. Doesn't happen when I'm offline, makes online gaming nights a headache if I need to quickly rebind something!
