Oh no, not another great looking update, I really have things to do. Alpha Strike has expanded the content in War Thunder once again and there's plenty to look forward to.

I'll admit I had a bit of a War Thunder issue recently, putting way too many hours into it during January and February with a friend. I just love the air battles, seeing all the different types of planes flying around. Especially fun with a couple of friends. I'm so close to getting jets for Great Britain - exciting!

Anyway Alpha Strike has a new ground vehicle for all nations included in this update, Hungary have also now made an appearance with their air force, several aircraft were added for other nations too like the Wessex HU.5 for Great Britain, a new naval unit with the "biggest weapons in the game" was added with the IJN Mutsu battleship for Japan, a whole new North Holland location for ground forces battles, a new aircraft fuel slider, new tutorial missions and the list goes on and on.

Going by their roadmap, they're also going to soon finally hook up Steam Friend List support properly into the game. That will be nice, I always prefer it to in-game friend lists rather than having to re-add people inside games directly. There's a lot more planned for this year, the roadmap definitely looks interesting.

War Thunder is free to play on Steam.

Also, if you missed it, Enlisted: Reinforced from Gaijin is coming to Steam with Linux support planned too!

Is it still pay to progress/win?
Weird to have such a big live service game have a native Linux build (not that that's a bad thing or anything)

Is it still pay to progress/win?

It is still (and always was) progress to win. After playing it for nearly 10 years I can't state that it is pay to win. In fact I am notoriously underperforming with my premium vehicles.
