A game that is something of a homage to the days of the Sega Saturn, Walaber Entertainment who created the fun JellyCar series have announced Parking Garage Rally Circuit. This really looks like it would fit right at home on the Saturn! Complete with tasty low-poly, chunky textures.

"The 'Parking Garage Rally Circuit' tour comes into a city, selects a parking garage, and temporarily turns it into an exciting rally course for a week-long competition. Each track in the game is styled as a unique parking garage that has been turned into a race course. Players will use a map of North America + UK to chart their course from track to track across the globe."

You can see their announcement video below, although you may need to turn your speakers up a bit to actually hear the developer properly:

In the video they said clearly it's been tested on Steam Deck and will have a Native Linux version. They also said it will offer multiple tracks, online leaderboards with ghost cars and even a simple online mode to race your friends.

You can follow it on Steam. It's due to release later this year.

Oh man, he really did totally nail the look of early Saturn games, and since I bloody love the Saturn, this really warms my heart.

Only one problem, and one only: Why oh why does the Saturn in the thumbnail have the awful early UK/US joypad, and not the far superior Japanese one that later became the default worldwide?! (Yes yes, I know, stock photo, but those controllers were unbelievably painful to use - almost as bad as I find Sony's!)
