Another popular survivor-like roguelite has launched, with Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok leaving Early Access to the big 1.0.

Taking the ideas from Vampire Survivors and putting a Nordic spin on it, so they could have just called it Viking Survivors and that would have been fine. Overall it seems it's hit the mark for most, with players giving it a Very Positive rating on Steam and it regularly sees multiple thousands of people playing it concurrently each day. So overall the developer has done well with it.

  • Alternative character skins for every character.
  • Elites and Bosses with their own behaviors to make battles more epic.

  • Ascensions of each character's relics to boost them even more.

  • +150 Achievements.
  • Secrets.
  • Twitch integration.

The 1.0 release is not the end, as you might expect, the developer has various plans to continue updating and expand the game.

When I took a look at it originally, I noted how it was a fair bit slower than other similar games that required a bit more skill on the movement and that hasn't really changed. So if others were too fast for you, perhaps give this one a try.

Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok has Native Linux support and is Steam Deck Verified.

You can buy it on Steam.

When I first bought this game, I was not enjoying it. Couldn't get into it. Balance between characters seemed way off. Tried it again with the 1.0 version and I have to say that it's gotten a lot better. Balance is pretty good now and you can feel a pretty clear progression curve. Still a big grind though, but that's kind of a standard feature for these kinds of games. The game could do with a few more quality of life improvements, but it's enjoyable.
