Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and need Iron Gate to make a Valheim anime now. The Valheim: Ashlands update has landed and the trailer is simply awesome.

Won't forget my first encounter with a troll that's for sure.
Recently started Valheim over the hype with the expectation that I won't like it (not into survival games in general). But damn, this game is fun!You never forget the first time you get killed by a falling tree either lol

Nope! (of course, we do try to smoosh anyone else when chopping trees. Agility Practice, that's it!)
Going to have to either make sure the fire thingies don't go to previous biomes, or see about upgrading roofs.
(gotta wait for mods to update before playing. sigh)

Stop scaring me, lol, fire thingies? Special roofs?
I have yet to die from a falling tree though, natural reaction to trees falling is to get out of the way? :D
So any previous world and all progress made is kind of lost - well minus the skills / gear of the character.
You have to create a new world , right ?

No, IIUC, though it's recommended. Apparently it'll just convert that region in the existing world, which may leave odd terrain where you have buildings.
We have a world where we only touched upon the area of Ashlands.
So we should be good to go right away.
You have to create a new world , right ?No, you can use your old one if you have not explored everything. You need some unexplored area down the map to generate the new ashlands. Iron Gate even did a prep guide for Ashlands. :)

Damn, no spoilers, but i died twice yesterday on my way there... :D
It is intense.
Remember folks: Git out the fire!
Red water: bad!
:D
For some reason I'm imagining the actual attitude of a Norse settler/farmer towards this place. "So, I've got my homestead up and running, everything's pretty prosperous, and I hear far to the West there's a land where there's ash and flame and undead monsters and nothing grows. Well, guess I know where I'm not going!"Easy. New build pieces! :)
I agree that the animated trailer looks cool, but I'm not sure what the point of it is? The gameplay trailer is more representative of the actual game, right? Are there animation sequences similar to the animated trailer in the game at all? It's simple: marketing. Literally all it is. It generates hype. The same reason any game has a non-gameplay trailer.
