From Happy Broccoli Games who made Kraken Academy!!, a new mystery adventure has arrived with Duck Detective: The Secret Salami out now. One I missed highlighting from earlier in May, because there's just too many good games being released!

Looks like a great one too with an Overwhelmingly Positive rating from users on Steam.

"Solving crime is no walk in the pond. You are a down-on-his-luck detective who also happens to be a duck. Use your powers of de-duck-tion to inspect evidence, fill in the blanks, and bust the case wide open, in a narrative mystery adventure where nothing is quite as it seems."

Features:

  • A 2-3 hour long mystery game!
  • Interview suspects, fill in the blanks and crack the case!
  • Fully voice-acted!
  • Throw bread to the fine beak of lady justice!
  • Judge everyone on first impressions, just by looking at them really, really hard! Get them to admit things by staring! Do ducks blink? You don’t.

You can buy it with Native Linux support from GOG and Steam.

More about the developer: Happy Broccoli Games is a Berlin-based indie studio that focuses on fresh character-focused games. Their debut Kraken Academy was released to critical praise and won the renowned German Computer Game Award 2022 for best Game Design and sees you save the world on your first day of school with the help of a magical kraken. They're also now working on the punchy action RPG Odyssey Island.

The secret salami!

Ducks OP 🦆
I hope its a Don Salami....
If not I at least hope for a Don Kabana.....
De-Duck-tion?! Aaaarrrggghhh! That's too low even for me. But in the spirit of that sort of thing:

Duck Detective: "Lady, you'll be getting my bill later."
Lady: "You're so cheeky! I haven't even said I'd go on a date!"
I just watched RTGame's playthrough of this last night, the voice acting is really quite good. And other than De-Duck-tion, there's actually hardly any puns.

A duck detective? That's just silly...

Frog? Sure! Alligator? Of course! Giraffe? Most definitely!

But a duck? Sheer nonsense!

Goodness me, it's like a combination of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Frog Detective, and Paper Mario, and it looks, sounds, and feels utterly charming. Will dig into the reviews later - this might be right up my alley.

There's an alligator who'd really like to be your sidekick…
