If you need a GOG game downloader for Linux that's nice and simple, Minigalaxy just got updated with a few good bug fixes. While it's simple looking it's still pretty feature-filled allowing you to login and download your games, update them, install DLC, install Windows games with Wine and more.

The changes in Minigalaxy version 1.3 are:

  • Fix Remove forward slash from desktop filename for Shenzhen I/O (thanks to slowsage).
  • Fix race when preparing download location (thanks to viacheslavka).
  • Fix multithreaded downloads of Windows games (thanks to viacheslavka).
  • Fix DLC installation for Windows games (thanks to viacheslavka).
  • Allow users to specify the download directory (thanks to viacheslavka).

Anyone use this? How does it compare to managing GOG games through Lutris?

I'm leaning more into GOG so would like to get opinions on the best way to deal with it

I've used it before. But my main app is still Lutris. However, if you don't want a Swiss army knife then this is a good alternative.

Even though I prefer Heroic, it's nice to have more options.
