Wine 9.11 has arrived as a new development release for the Windows compatibility layer, and with it new features and bug fixes for a big part of what makes Proton possible.

From the changelog the highlights include:

  • C++ exception handling on ARM platforms.
  • More DPI Awareness support improvements.
  • Various bug fixes.

Going over the bug fixes they note problems solved for:

  • The Room 4: Old Sins
  • Saint Kotar
  • Overwatch 2
  • Aimbeast
  • Steam Client
  • Genshin Impact launcher
  • EverQuest

  • Postal 2

And of course various bug fixes to other issues and expected behaviour to get more working on Linux.

Testing some titles with this wine version, zombi have several issues related virtual memory (many suddenly crashes) and now since vulkan implement (VK_EXT_map_memory_placed) run ok with around 2 1/2 hours of gameplay without any suddenly crash

same situation occur with hard reset extended edition and now run without crashes in long gameplay test
