Spilled! from developer Lente is a sweet casual game about driving your little boat around to clean up the ocean. It has a new demo available with a big graphics upgrade. Tested working great on desktop Linux with Proton 9.
Not only is this cute game about a boat, it's made on a boat too. Solo developer Lente from the Netherlands lives and develops her games on a boat. She grew up on a ship and that has always stayed with her, and she and her mother renovated the boat, making it one of the most original game studio locations!

Game Features:
- Short but satisfying - Move through 8 areas, each bigger in size and with more waste. No rush, take as long as you want. Spilled! is a short yet cozy game that you can finish in 1 hour, but you can use the level select to go back to any area if you just want to relax!
- Recycle & earn coins - Clean up a whole area to move on to the next! The water gets clearer the more you recycle, revealing underwater life that is different for each area!
- Upgrade your boat - Prepare for the next area: tackle bigger oil spills with a bigger collector, hold more oil with an upgraded tank and cover larger distances with upgraded speed!
- Find & rescue animals - Each area has 2 different animals to find and rescue, for a total of 16! See which ones you've already saved in the options menu. Or which ones you've missed!
- Face new challenges - Each area has a new challenge to overcome! Push plastic to the recycling centre, wash oil off of the land, help retrieve lost items to other boats, put out wildfires, go magnet fishing and more currently in development!
- Explore new biomes - While cleaning up the environment, you move through 4 biomes: grass, rock, sand and snow!
Check out the demo on Steam. The developer said during the successful Kickstarter that it will have full Steam Deck support too.

I played the 10-minute demo before the graphics update, and it really was wonderfully relaxing.
It has similar vibes to Terra Nil, and we definitely need more games like that. Watching how water goes from murky brown to nice and clean will never get old.

Lovely. Now if only real world cleanup could be like that--quick, effective, not leaving half the goop behind . . .

That's probably going to bite them. You're going to get people feeling short-changed by that amount of gameplay and refunding, and it's going to be quite difficult to price the game appropriately for that amount of gameplay. If you make it too expensive, you'll get more people refunding, or just not buying it for an hour of gameplay, but if you make it too cheap then it gets the "cheap game" stigma and you might not make any money from sales.
If they can push it up to something like 4-5 hours of gameplay that would settle into the right kind of cozy game experience, and should be comfortably in the £5-10 price range which ought to do well.

I guess the problem is that it seems developers first game. Small scope is good thing to have in order to get something out. I don't remember how much of a thing refunding short games were. Might have been that it's not that big of an issue. I think refunds had reputation and if you abuse the system too much, you might not be able to get refunds for a while.
I think the cheap game stigma might be related to perceived effort. Using popular asset pack content as it can make it feel like like no effort was spent on the assets. With asset flips that can even be actually be the case. AI generated content could have same problem with some additional complexities on top of that.
