After initially releasing on Steam as Enlisted: Reinforced back in March, it was quickly taken down but now it's back on Steam just as Enlisted. Players initially took issues with the fact that the Steam release was paid-only, while it was free direct from their website.

With the re-release, it still has Native Linux support and Valve gave it a Playable rating on Steam Deck (using the Native version too). While the developer said: "Enlisted also works on Steam Deck! We've adapted the game's interface and controls to ensure that the gaming experience on Steam's proprietary console is as comfortable as on other platforms where Enlisted is already available.".

So it seems they still have some work to do on small text and gamepad controls not being default which is holding it up from being fully Steam Deck Verified.

Enlisted is quite unique when it comes to an online FPS, as you control a squad instead of a single person, with you being able to switch between them. It's pretty interesting but as usual for Gaijin there's a fair amount of in-app purchases just like War Thunder.

Check it out free on Steam.

"on Steam's proprietary console"
Haha, nice little dig there! Reminding us it's not as free as it may seem

Odd thing to say to be honest as I bet the hardware they where making said game on is proprietary too.

Not for me, but glad to see that they sorted this out and gave players what they want.

I don't seem to recall them ever actually saying that it was, though. Anything it seems to be beyond what's on Valve's website, seems to have spawned from our own minds.

I will for sure give this game a try.

Can't we get good games rather than free ones? Think I will stick with Isonzo. Although it does make me wonder what kind of options there are for somewhat realistic shooters on Linux that don't go full out milsim.

It's not native, but Hell Let Loose is worth your attention I'd say.
