GE-Proton 9-10 was released July 7th updating various internal tech as usual to improve gaming on Linux / Steam Deck so here's what's new.
Firstly, until FromSoftware actually fix up ELDEN RING EAC for players who don't own the DLC, GE-Proton now includes the fix I suggested users try in my previous article. Apart from that, it's just updating the various included parts like DXVK and VKD3D-Proton to the very latest code available from Git which includes:
- Updated wine to latest bleeding edge
- Updated wine-mono to 9.2.0
- Updated dxvk to latest git (which includes d8vk now)
- Removed d8vk build options as it's part of dxvk now
- Updated proton script so that d8vk is enabled by default as part of dxvk's files
- Updated vkd3d-proton to latest git
While DXVK hasn't seen a fresh release yet (likely sometime soon), the latest Git code has now pulled in d8vk for supporting Direct3D 8 over Vulkan. Which means DXVK now does Direct3D 8/9/10/11!
