This isn't your classic Tetris, this is Hexis, a block-falling puzzle game about building up your high score but the blocks will come from all directions. Note: key sent by the developer.

It's a simple no-frills puzzle game, that succeeds at exactly what it describes. Blocks made of hexagons stitched together will come from the sides towards the center of the screen, initially quite slow but it will speed up. You'll need to fit them all together, to get them to vanish to build up your score before you pile them too close to the borders around the screen.

While it has the traditional line-building in such block-falling games, one feature added in recently is the addition of bonus lines where if you line up the colours exactly as shown, you'll get some extra points. Just a fun little extra challenge to it, but not necessary to do.

For those who find the main mode too easy, there's a couple of different modes where you'll have to think pretty darn fast with multiple blocks at a time. But the main mode is reasonably chilled.

Initially launched in June, the developer told me via email it was developed on Linux! Overall, it's a well-built puzzler to spend some chilled-out time with.

Check it out on the Steam page.
