Last Epoch is the action-RPG from Eleventh Hour Games that released in February and the first major post-release update is out now with Patch 1.1 - Harbingers of Ruin.

As expected, it's a pretty big one, with lots that sounds exciting and as a result the player count has exploded on it again with it hitting a 24-hour player peak count of 71,727 online playing at the same time.

Some of what's new includes:

  • A new evade ability for all classes. So you can dart around during battles.
  • Harbingers end-game system for a series of tough boss battles, leading to a big finale battle against the new Pinnacle boss. There's also the new Forgotten Knights Faction to go along with it.
  • A new random encounter system called Nemesis where you can get some good loot, after a battle.
  • 30 new Unique items.
  • They tweaked how boss battles work to be more clear on how you’re actually progressing through the boss’ health.
  • + lots of smaller bug fixes and improvements.

Judge me as you will, but when I first played Last Epoch and saw "Eleventh Hour Games" in the menu, I though to myself this game is only eleven hours long! and it made me very sad!

This game is absolutely amazing (in regards to gameplay) and a must play for those who never played this genre (ARPG).

Your goal in this genre of games is this: How to not play the game. (how to one shot the entire screen therefore not needing to play the game anymore. it is quite unique and very entertaining especially Last Epoch flavor!)

Last Epoch is amazing. I think it's probably the best there is in its genre right now. Nothing else comes even close. I was highly addicted to it last year after it hit 1.0 and got some patches. I got to end game and got a little bored, but maybe I should take another look now!
