Trialforge Studio and Tate Multimedia are bringing their party-based soulslike set in a harsh world where Faith clashes with Science to Steam on August 8th and it should be good to go for Steam Deck players. Which is good news for desktop Linux players too since both will use Proton so it should work great.

Not to be confused with an online party here, instead you gain the skills and identities of fallen warriors found throughout the world. This gives you the option to seamlessly switch between all of them while you craft a play-style through the talent trees available. Sounds pretty fun!

Friday last week the developers posted an announcement on Steam noting:

We have good news for all Akratya citizens! Deathbound is playable on Steam Deck, and we aim to receive the Deck Verified status on release day. Right now, all Fallen Warriors can play the Deathbound demo on Steam Deck, and it’s fully compatible with Valve’s handheld device.

We tested Deathbound on Steam Deck and were consistently satisfied with the results— the game runs smoothly, and we did not encounter any major bugs on this platform. Similar feedback was received from many members of our community who had the opportunity to play Deathbound on this device.

Therefore, we are aiming for Deathbound to receive Verified Game status on Steam Deck on the release date, which is scheduled for August 8th.
