The developer of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, originally just known as MOUSE, certainly aren't shying away from their retro Disney inspiration here. With Steamboat Willie now in the public domain, we can bet there will be more that use classic Mickey Mouse.

You still have quite a while to wait on it though, since it's not going to release until 2025. Reminds me in a few ways of what Bye Sweet Carole is doing with the classic Disney style.

More about it: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, a gritty and noir-fueled FPS shooter that draws inspiration from classic cartoons of the 1930s.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire boasts a unique visual style inspired by the charm of 1930s rubber hose animation, transporting players to a nostalgic era of early cartoons. Assume the role of a private detective navigating a noir city teeming with gangs, mobs, and characters from the dark side. Unravel a quest for justice in a noir city mired in chaos, corruption, and vibrant energy, utilizing a diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives to thwart the takeover by corrupt politicians. The game's playful weaponry and distinctive health display, coupled with enemies behaving like cartoon characters, add a lighthearted twist to traditional FPS gameplay."

A brand new trailer was just shown off too, take a look below:

I have been super excited for this one since the original announcement, although anyone else I have shown the trailer to has been less than enthusiastic for some reason.

I like the art style but nothing else so far.

This looks absolutely hilarious and has ten times more appeal to me than Cuphead.
I feel like the art style and stuff like animations of people looking like cartoon cinders after you blow them away would be amusing for five minutes or so, but at a certain point . . . it's just an FPS, and is there anything about the gameplay that makes it good?
