Path of Exile 2 hits Early Access on November 15

By -

I know lots of action-RPG fans will be excited for this one. Path of Exile 2 is now set to release into Early Access on November 15th. Hopefully it will work well, if they kept up with their Vulkan support it would make it a lot easier to run through Proton on Desktop Linux and Steam Deck.

Quite excited for this one, especially after some of the great features they revealed previously like full proper couch co-op support on all systems.

Features:

  • A Next Generation Action RPG - Path of Exile 2 is a next-generation Action RPG created by Grinding Gear Games. Journey across the deadly continent of Wraeclast, meeting multiple immersive cultures while facing off against evil in many forms.
  • Familiar and New Classes - Twelve Character Classes - Path of Exile 2 features twelve character classes, two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. You can combine skills from many classes together to create your ideal character build. Each of the twelve character classes has its own three Ascendancy specializations, resulting in a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes to pick between.
  • Encounter Unique Bosses - In Path of Exile 2, every area of the Campaign contains a boss encounter. There's over a hundred bosses to fight as you make your way through the Acts and they all have unique mechanics to learn.
  • New Skill Gem System - Path of Exile 2 features 240 Skill Gems that grant devastating active skills and 200 Support Gems that modify their behavior. In addition, you can now Dual-Specialise your passive skill tree, allowing your character to switch between two wildly different fighting styles at will.
  • In-Depth Equipment System - Path of Exile 2 features hundreds of equipment base types for you to uncover as you explore the land of Wraeclast. These have a wide range of magical modifiers, but can also be found in unique variants imbued with ancient power.
  • Endgame - At the conclusion of Path of Exile 2's six-act campaign, you'll gain access to its endgame. Each of the more than 100 endgame maps has its own boss fight and modifiers that enable revamped versions of many of Path of Exile's past leagues.

You can follow it on Steam. Like the first game it will be free to play.

For sure this'll be one I'll check out. Hopefully I won't get to endgame and get bored out of my mind like in the first one. Even if so, there's plenty of enjoyment to be had getting there, so it'll be worth it no matter what.

I rarely make it to endgame in these games anyway, or if I do, I just start a new character, so very excited for this one.
The couch co op is a big plus

Was looking forward to couch co op for diablo 4.. until I found out they removed that feature for the pc version

I still have not purchased Last Epoch even though I was excited for it to release for years. Why? Because it looks like the co-op is not impactful. Reading reviews and watching streams shows that it doesn't matter whether you are playing with someone or not. It's not harder. You don't need to work together. It is just a loot grind with no risk of dying.

If that is different in PoE2, I will be interested.
