Take this with your usual scepticism, but it appears Valve are working on another new game (no not Deadlock that leaked previously) which may end up being Half-Life 3.
News comes thanks to a post on Reddit, that links to a certain actress's official website that notes they're doing Voice Over for "Project White Sands (video game)" from Valve on their résumé. Their website was later updated to remove the mention, but I've confirmed via the Internet Archive it was previously listed.
While it's not proof and it doesn't necessarily mean anything will actually release (Valve cancelled various games before release previously), clearly Valve are doing something interesting here at the moment. White Sands is the giveaway, since it's a U.S National Park based in New Mexico which is where the Black Mesa Research Facility is located. So uh, that's a pretty strong hint right? However, the name could also be a red herring to intentionally throw anyone off from potential leaks too.
It's also worth noting at this point that Half-Life: Alyx is currently 66% off until August 19th. It's been as low as that a couple of times before but it is still the lowest Valve has ever put it so far. Might be a good time to check it out if you haven't already, perhaps with the Half-Life Alyx NoVR mod if you don't have a VR headset. I won't spoil it, but it's an important game.
Data miner Tyler McVicker also covered it in a video going over some details.

Quoting: EhvisThere only one thing we know for sure. It won't be called "Half-Life 3".
They're going straight to 4 to break the curse

What the heck guys?
Quoting: GuestMight be the wrong place to ask, but I want to play Half Life Alyx as intended. Is there a VR system that works well with Linux that perhaps is a bit less than the $1k price tag of the Valve index?
Used HTC Vive off ebay.
You won't get the full finger tracking of the Index but apart from that it'll work.
Quoting: poke86You could get the Index controllers seperately though, they do work with the Steam VR 1.0 (HTC Vive) tracking. Nevertheless it's a good idea to have also Vive Wands (HTC Vive controllers), as e.g. the Half Life 2 VR Mod seems to work better with them than with the Index controllers.Quoting: GuestMight be the wrong place to ask, but I want to play Half Life Alyx as intended. Quoting: Mountain ManI refuse to believe it until I see Half-Life 3 for sale on Steam.
It’ll be an Epic Game Store exclusive for at least the first year.
