The Wine 9.15 development release is now available as there's continued work on ODBC Windows drivers and the usual assorted bug fixes. Wine is a huge part of what makes Valve's Proton able to do its thing so you can play lots of games on Linux Desktop and Steam Deck.

For this release the two main noted highlights are:

  • Prototype and constructor objects in MSHTML.
  • More support for ODBC Windows drivers.

And there's 18 bugs noted to be solved including some issues solved for:

  • Desperados
  • Final Fantasy XI Online
  • Jade Empire
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Doom 3: BFG Edition
  • ChessBase 17

Whats crazy is Doom 3 BFG is still broken on Steam for me on Windows 11 (Yes I still use a Windows Partition for some games) Amazing how Wine...fixes things that Windows should already have working out the door.
