Popcannibal have announced their latest chilled-out experience in Kind Words 2 (lofi city pop) will be launching on October 7th. The first game in the series is a much-loved little gem that has an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam from over seven thousand user reviews.

What is it? A game about being kind to real people. Send encouraging letters from your cozy room, wander outside and say hi to your neighbors, swap recommendations, dress up for the poetry slam and add your dreams to a sky full of wishes. Join a community of real people with their hearts on their sleeves. This also includes a remade version of the original Kind Words.

For those worried about any privacy issues the developers note it does not collect any personal info at all, no user IDs, nothing. The whole point is that it's "Totally anonymous" and just "Good vibes".

A fun fact for you on this one: it was mostly developed on Linux. One of the team, Ziba Scott, mentioned to me how they're a "Linux-first kind of developer".

You can follow it on Steam.

I continue to play Kind Words long after it came out (usually once or so a week). It will be interesting to see how they do things with KW2 but I really hope they don't lose the vibe of the original with all the new content. Looking forward to checking it out.
