Lots of points for originality here. GladiEATers has a really fun idea that combines cooking and turn-based battles into something a little quirky. It's announced for a Steam (Windows) release but likely will run great with Valve's Proton.
Here you cook up a team of food-based monsters to command in turn-based battles and become champion of the CALosseum. With every battle starting off in the kitchen you get your basic ingredients and cook them up against the clock to turn them into powerful creatures. Each mini-game lets you change your GladiEATers’ form and boost its stats, but it’s up to you to choose how to spend your time. So you could create a really powerful strange creature, or send in a whole lot of boiled eggs to overwhelm an opponent.
With both a single-player mode, an endless roguelike mode and even online ranked versus battles this looks delicious. I want it.

More about the developer, MilkBubblesGames: an independent game studio working entirely remotely. Their team, made up of creatives from around the world, shares a love for pixel art. The group includes a designer, two programmers, a sound designer, two composers, and five artists. They came together to create GladiEATers, their first game, which has been in development for nearly three years.
