Caves of Qud is easily (and I keep saying this) one of the best roguelikes ever made, and with the latest Beta it's a lot easier to get into. You might also want to buy it soon before the price rises.

They're making the final preparations for the 1.0 release to leave Early Access later this year and on October 29th the price will be jumping up to $29.99 USD (it's currently $19.99). So now really is a good time to buy it, especially with the latest Beta release.

Writing in an update on Steam they said: "We just released the Caves of Qud tutorial on our beta branch. It’s designed to teach the very basics of Caves of Qud and ends with your character arriving in Joppa, just like in a standard game. If you’re already a seasoned Qud player, you’ll likely be familiar with most of what gets taught (though there may be some useful nuggets for you); if you have a friend who’s been itching to try the game, this is a great opportunity to get them going!"

The tutorial Beta is opt-in on Steam and a separate download on itch.io. Unclear if the Beta is on GOG.

The tutorial along with the last segment of the main story will come into the main branch when 1.0 releases. Which there's no date for just yet. It has Native Linux support and is Steam Deck Verified.

You can buy it from:

GOG

itch.io

Steam

Looking at the price hikes, buying it in 2018 and not playing till they release 1.0 might not have been a stupid idea after all.

I bought it on 2015 and played just a bit because I didn't liked the initial GUI. One day I will play again as I love real roguelikes.
