Some games really do have absolutely fantastic soundtracks, and there's going to be a whole event dedicated to it with Save & Sound. Taking place November 4-7 it's a live online musical festival featuring a line-up that's absolutely stacked full of great stuff.

The main show takes place on November 4th and 5th, but there will also be a festival on Steam with various demos to try out as well.

With a line-up including Dwarf Fortress, Tiny Glade, Cult of the Lamb, A Short Hike, shapez 2, Metal Hellsinger, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Dorfromantik, Jusant, Anger Foot, Necesse, Pacific Drive, Pathologic 3 and the list goes on.

I wonder why they made the schedule such a tiny, illegible image that you can't even right-click to see in its original size. If anyone else is having trouble with it:

Just in case if somebody wants plaintext version of the schedule. Haven't used ChatGPT that much, but as far as I can see, it did the job just fine. Free OCR solutions have been bit hit and miss when I tried them long time ago.

Five here, and that's if you count demos.

Four. Fourteen if demos are counted. And few of the demos I have installed, but haven't played yet, so the count could be even higher. Not that I remember much of the soundtracks. Anger Foot is exception as the music is mostly so simple and repetitive.

Well, I remember one of the main tracks on Pacific Drive since it's by an artist I already like, Old Man Luedecke. Although it's a huge departure from his usual stuff.

Memorable is pretty high bar for me. I can remember some old classics for sure like Cannon Fodder theme, but for majority of games I don't really remember any details. Sometimes I can just remember that music was good.

But artist connection is good point. Jet's Guns soundtrack I remember because it's by Machinae Supremacy and I listen to the soundtrack now and then. Not they are included in any of the soundtracks this time around as far as I know.

Pff, I've got you all beaten! Zero, and I've only heard of a few of the listed games at all.

Looks like the official program ended yesterday. I checked quickly the todays stream and it was a rerun.

Youtube has streams from both days, if you want to watch something you missed. There's no chapters, though if you're lucky somebody might have the correct timestamp in a comment.

I watched most of the content and it's bit all over the place. Some of were mini documents how the songs (and sometimes sound effects) have been made. Some were small concerts all the way to a live metal concert.

Too many bit and pieces to mention, but as familiar artists were mentioned, I was bit surprised that Alexander Vinter has been making sound track for indie game. I stumbled upon his music quite many years ago and he's a moderately successful EDM artist. I usually don't keep up with EDM, usually chiptune is more interesting.
