After a bigger Steam Beta Client recently that had some nice improvements for Game Recording, and various Linux fixes along with another SteamOS Beta - we have yet another tiny SteamOS update.

Valve are really pushing towards the stable release of SteamOS 3.6 for Steam Deck now!

SteamOS 3.6.17 "End of the End of the Line" Beta changes:

Wireless

  • Fixed a problem where Steam Deck would be unable to connect to certain Wi-Fi 7 access points

Given the Beta naming, Valve were likely hoping the previous Beta was the final one. Hopefully this one then. Who knows, maybe they'll treat us to SteamOS 3.6 stable later today, since Valve do have a habit of releasing things on Friday.

To access the current Beta you need to be in the Beta or Preview channel via Settings > System > System Update Channel.

Please! I'm begging on my knees! Do it Valve!

Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to all the goodies in this new release.

Note that if you use luxtorpeda and were on the steam client beta, steam is launching lux at start for some odd reason. Ive pushed up a new version of the client to work around that issue

Please… if this is the last beta, wait at least until Monday. Busting things on Friday sucks.
