Each week Prime Gaming, part of what you get with a subscription to Amazon Prime, add and remove various games you can claim to keep. Here's the updated list for October 25th.

I'll use the Steam Deck Rating from Valve (steam deck verified Verified, steam deck playable Playable, steam deck unsupported Unsupported and steam deck not rated Not Rated), plus the ProtonDB rating to help you decide on what to play. Compatibility may be slightly different since the games are from various stores. Some of the games might also have no ratings right now.

The only one I'm still not including in this list is DOOM Eternal, as that's via the Microsoft Store, which of course does not work on at all Steam Deck / Linux since it's a Windows-only thing. All the games you get to keep as Prime Gaming gives you a code to redeem!

You can install games from Epic, GOG and Amazon easily via the Heroic Games Launcher.

See them all and claim from Prime Gaming.

Absolutely superb game. If you have a couple of mates to play with, I also recommend the dev's second game, Inkbound, too. I have nearly as many hours in Monster Train as I do Slay the Spire (although they're very different games, of course), but triple the time in Inkbound!

Since ProtonDB is mentioned, can anyone tell me why no games have been added to it since the end of 2023? Was the site put into maintenance mode or something? The last game it says was added was Blue Protocol in December 2023.

Not sure what you mean? SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is on ProtonDB, and it was released yesterday.

Interesting, never heard of Inkbound before. Might check it out!
Edit: Online required - that's not for me

Yeah, it's "free if you already have Prime". It's still worth calling out though, because a fair few of my friends had no idea that Prime Gaming was even a thing. I only found out about it myself when I linked my Amazon account to Twitch and all these notifications popped up. It's weird that they don't advertise it more aggressively.

Like Amazon send me a near-weekly email complaining that I have an "used Prime benefit" because I use Spotify and have never signed up for Amazon Music. But I didn't ever get any such reminders about Prime Gaming. Like I say, it's just weird.

Yeah, it's "free if you already have Prime".

So everything you get with Prime is free? What kinda logic is that?

I can sort of understand if someone didn't know about all their benefits, but that doesn't mean you have to lie with words. It's not free and that's the end of the story.

Hearing this always boils my blood because believe it or not video games had been my entire reason for subscribing. For me, the shipping is the bonus that I use rarely and I don't use any other benefits

So getting fed these nonsense articles claiming that my hundred bucks a year are actually worthless because it's all free is kinda infuriating.

Also worth noting that I've since unsubbed bexcause a lot of the games for Epic are games Epic had previously given away for free (for real this time). And you don't get a second copy to play with your friends or something... you just get... nothing, then. For a hundred bucks a year that felt more like getting robbed than giveaways. So I really, really hate the wording articles like this use which is effectively a lie anyhow.

I have no idea where this weird anger is coming from. I bought Prime for free Amazon deliveries, so, yeah, I was surprised to learn I now had access to a huge library of free games.

Sure, they're not really free in the truest sense, but no need to be so riled. I found the article helpful. Some won't. That's fine.
