Well there's a surprise. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered from Guerrilla Games / Nixxes Software and PlayStation Publishing has been given the Steam Deck Verified steam deck verified tick from Valve.

Despite the game bringing in some more enhanced rendering and updated graphics, it appears it's running well enough for Valve to think the "game works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box". It does, however, need an internet connection for first-time setup thanks to the forcing of a PlayStation Network Account.

The release came with Ultrawide 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9 resolutions, as well as 48:9 triple monitor support, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex, AMD FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS. So if you're playing on Desktop Linux with Proton you've got plenty of options to tweak it to your liking.

Valve's testing on Steam Deck used the latest stable Proton 9.0-3.

As I reported previously, for Desktop Linux you likely need a quick launch option to run it properly.

Have you been playing on Steam Deck / Desktop Linux? How's your experience been?

I'm not a fan of having another account when I already have the Steam account, PSN account should be optional in this case. Especially if this is single-player only game.

I've played the original and it ran like crap with constant stuttering. So, I'm honestly not sure if a remaster will run any better. But I'm open to it and will probably buy it at some point

Not should - has to. There is just plain and simple no even remotely valid excuse for forcing any account bullshit on a singleplayer game.

Who is a fan of it? There's no way Sony believes anyone actually wants this, especially the 121 countries they've locked out.

Do you mean on the Deck? On my modest desktop it ran at a low FPS initially but improved enough with subsequent updates that I was able to increase some settings.

Yep, I mean on the Deck. It stutters constantly. I do not believe this is an issue with Proton, because it seems to run fine on my Linux Desktop. I uninstalled it yesterday because i got fed up with the bad performance. It's honestly insane it's Steam Deck Verified tbh.
